I was very surprised by your list of so-called "ten sexiest Iranian women." It is kind of difficult to equate women in black chadors with "sexy." And some of the women you included were not even beautiful, let alone sexy!!! Others did not have any accomplishments other than being the candy on a successful man's arm. I could have come up with a better sexy list anytime! Your most egregious omission from the list was a beautiful, intelligent lady of international reknown: How could you forget to include CNN anchor Rudi Bakhtiar?
S. B., West Hollywood.

…. Cyber pin-up Angelyna?
Rick Tabrizi, UCLA.

"America so Beautiful" actress Atossa Leoni?
Maryam, via email.

Googoosh?
Sahar T., Irvine.

The most beautiful and sexy of them all, the incomparable Jamileh?
Mohammad Q., Encino.

Aaaaaaaaaahhhhh!!! With all the Western media gleefully delighting in portraying Muslims as backward savages, I cannot believe you would be irresponsible enough to put a picture of those dumb fanatics who beat themselves with chains and swords as an accurate representation of Islam. The majority of Muslims, especially Iranians, are very modern, civilized and would never subject ourselves or our children to these ritualistic primitive and barbaric practices. Your photo close-ups with all that blood and gore serves no other purpose than to inflame the public opinion against Muslims more!!!
Azam N., via email.

Regarding your article on Shiites, just another sign that it is high time we rid Iran of that savage barbaric religion that was inflicted on us by Arabs. We are NOT Arabs, why are we mimicking their horrible ways?
Tony Vardeh, Westwood.

I do not believe this thing about Monster.com, is it for real??? What are we going to do about it ? Just sit passively??? Of course, we are Iranians!
Anonymous.

Are we not exaggerating with this monster.com thing? Has anyone you know EVER found a job through that site? I know of no one. You find employment through connections, acquaintances, friends and family. If they don't want us to be part of their shitty little site, let them, who needs them?
Amir-Hossein S., Washington D.C.

I could not believe my eyes when I read the Sex Sultan: IT IS SO COOL! I never thought an Iranian magazine would have the guts to say things like that. You know what? It is true! This issue is encountered in our culture so why not talk about it instead of putting our heads in the sand? Also, it's good for a good laugh.
Shahriar, via email.

It saddens me to no end to see yet another example of Iran's oppressive regime. If shutting down actual newspapers are not enough, now they are going after webloggers like Sina Motallebi. My heart goes out to him and his family. The youth of Iran is living its life day by day with just a thin thread of hope and reason to get up in the morning. Personal blogs have been one of them recently. In a society where no on is allowed to say what they think, blogs were a conduit for the expression of your most suffocating thoughts, ideas, simply a way to feel you mattered. I am really really horrified and saddened by this news and cannot sleep at night!
Roz, Encino.
