Man beats bunny rabbit in Wisconsin mall
According to the Smoking Gun website, a Wisconsin man was busted
over the recent holidays for assaulting a mall's Easter Bunny. According
to cops, a mall had hired someone to dress in a full bunny costume
and greet children at a local mall when a man allegedly jumped into
his lap and started smashing him in the head. The assailant then
put the Easter Bunny in a headlock and punched the rabbit in the
mouth, as young mallgoers watched aghast. There is no known motive
at this time as the assaulter and his victim do not even know each
other. Perhaps the only explanation can be found in man's understandable
hatred of pink fluffy bunnies? We are not saying he was right. We
are just saying we understand.
California dog has nine lives
The Associated Press reports that a dog in California has survived
being hit by a car, being shot in the head and being stuck in a
freezer for two hours - all in the one day. First hit by a car in
Clearlake, the dog was then shot by a police officer who was trying
to put the animal out of its misery. Presumed dead, the pooch was
taken to an Animal Control centre, where she was put in a freezer.
However, a few hours later an official went to the freezer and found
Dosha alive - but cold. Animal groups have begun raising money to
pay for her care.
Pin-up Priests
In a story from Reuters, twelve young priests have raised eyebrows
in Italy by posing for a glossy calendar -- albeit somberly dressed
in long, dark robes and broad-rimmed, traditional hats.
The priests featured in "Calendario Romano 2004," which
aims to promote tourism in the Italian capital, are photographed
standing in front of famous Rome landmarks.
Critics have said the pictures are inappropriate because people
will inevitably compare the priests to the naked pin-ups commonly
associated with Italian calendars. They also complain that profits
are not going to charity.
December's picture is of a swarthy priest with a goatee beard and
curly hair in Piazza Venezia while March depicts an angelic-looking
seminarian in a procession.
"The priests are young and good looking, but that doesn't make
them sex symbols. That depends on the imagination of the viewer,"
Pazzi said.
